PC Power. Here is an image of a photo that was taken on Thursday, 1 February 1968, marking the merger of the New York Central System and the Pennsylvania Railroad. Partially visible at the left is NYC engine #5331, an RS3 road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in May of 1952 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Description:
PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Penn Central Railroad engine #4352 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #4352 was constructed as Pennsylvania Railroad number "9852" in June of 1952 and renumbered "4352" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.

PC 1423, F3A, c. 1968
Description:
PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Penn Central Railroad engine #1423, an F3A built by GM-EMD for the Pennsylvania Railroad as EH-15 number "9686" in February of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and renumbered "1423" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. The best one can say about this situation is "Oops!" The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. According to Mr. Mark Branibar, the location is most likely the former New York Central yards in Sharonville, Ohio.

Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #4367 is an FP-7A built for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "9867" in August of 1952 and renumbered "4367" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. #1712 is an F7A built for the New York Central Railroad in March of 1952. PC Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken near Burlington, New Jersey, c. 1969. Photo Caption: "Lima 1200-hp. (EMD engines), PC #8062. Burlington, N.J." Penn Central Railroad engine #8062 is an LRS-1200 built by Lima-Hamilton as New York Central Railroad number "5810" in September of 1950, rated at 1,200 horsepower, later rebuilt with a GM-EMD prime mover, and renumbered "8062" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-58).

Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #8378, a DS 4-4-660 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "9032" in May of 1949, rated at 660 horsepower, and renumbered "8378" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. According to Mr. Mark Branibar, "DS44-660 #8378 was the former PC (PRR paint) 7882, which was the former PRR 9032. Never received PC paint. This was as far as it got before retirement on February 21, 1971."

PC Power. Here is an original photo that I took near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 5 June 1975. Shown here (L to R) are Penn Central Railroad engines #6278 and #2297. Both were built by GM-EMD. #6278 is an SD40 and #2297 is a GP35. They're pulling an eastbound merchandise freight (with autoracks) and are about to cross State Route 829 ~ just off of US Route 22, East of Huntingdon. The mountains of the Juniata River Valley dominate the distance.
