Description: |
H.L. Goldsmith found CN 4-6-2 Pacific #5293 in storage at the Montreal Turcot Yard awaiting its final disposition. Note the block of wood covereing the headlight. Built by MLW in 1919 as CGR 521, it was renumbered CTR 1521 and then in 1923 CNR #5293. Specs - serial #60488, class J-7-b, 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, approximate engine weight of 268,000 lb and tractive effort of 39,736 lb. The loco was finally scrapped in June of 1961. |
