PFJ. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken at Frankford Junction near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 13 September 1952. At the left is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4912, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during January of 1942 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. It has just departed 30th Street Station with the "Congressional" on its way to Trenton and New York City. At the right (L to R) are PRR engines #4788 and #4781. Both are P-5A (2-C-2) modifides built in Juniata and rated at 3,750 horsepower each; #4788 was built in February of 1935, but #4781 was out-shopped one month earlier. |

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by J.J. Buckley that was taken near Enola, Pennsylvania, on 26 July 1961. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4781 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #4781 is a P-5A (Modified) (2-C-2) electric built by Juniata-Westinghouse in January of 1935, rated at 3,750 horsepower, and retired in May of 1962 after 27 years of faithful service. |
