Title:  "Gritty Palace" Executive Car
Description:  This is one of the newest jewels added to the Minnesota Transportation Museum. The car was donated to the Museum in 2022 after the deaths of the private owners Art & Judy Pew. It has a long history - built 1912 by Pullman as CRIP #1902 "Choctaw", renumbered later to CRIP #98, sold in 1968 and renambed PPCX 800117 "Gritty Plalace".

"Gritty Palace" Executive Car
Title:  "Gritty Palace" Executive Car
Description:  Built by Pullman in 1912 as Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific executive car #1902 named "Choctaw", it was later renumbered CRIP #98. When financial troubles hit Rock Island, it was sold in February of 1968 to Art & Judy Pew and partner Warren Nugent. It was used for family vacations. Upon the deaths of Art and Judy Pew, the Pew family donated the car to the Minnesota Transportation Museum in 2022.

Description:  Although not open for the public to walk through, the window gives a charming view into a meticulously maintained "old fashioned" executive car. The Pew family took many vacations around the US in the car. That would have been an elegant way to travel!!!
