Ken Roble General are the tracks still intact beyond the CSX main? 3/25/2008 5:14:51 PM
Ken Roble General are the tracks still intact beyond the CSX main? Back in the 90s I visited this place in the summer months and then the old CofG interlocking signals were still standing were they when you shot this? 3/25/2008 5:16:40 PM
greg smith General with the rising cost of fuel could old lines like this see new life as more companies look for a cheaper alternative to truck transportation? 3/25/2008 10:05:01 PM
Darrell Krueger General A sad, sad sight. I was there today, and it doesn't look any better. 3/15/2009 11:25:05 PM
Eugene Cain General What is the thing mounted on the concrete base here??? Kinda weird looking. 8/4/2012 6:38:17 PM
J. Williams General Yes the CSX is still running their side. It is Very busy. There is a rumor of reusing this line, but only rumor right now. That is why I think they will not take up the rails. The was a make shift signal for the CSX to see when the CofG was in the interlocking is what I was told by an old C&S person. 8/6/2012 7:48:07 AM
Eugene Cain General This looks very much like a "Return to Train" Signal. They were mounted pretty much this way, facing in each direction for the CSX. I have only seen them on ex SAL lines but i suppose they could be anywhere. CSX took them all out in the late 90s. 8/6/2012 3:51:03 PM
Eugene Cain General Jim, do you have a Picture of this when the Diamond was in place? And the Signals were there on that ground mount?? I would like to go see this. 8/8/2012 12:41:18 PM
J. Williams General I wish I did have one while it was in service. The signals were single mast with two bulbs (red & Yellow)& it was regular height. It was laying on the ground when I took this photo. It's gone now by nobody knows when it was taken. 8/9/2012 11:40:33 AM
