| MVRR 8 is at the interchange with the New HaMen to pick-up the three box cars. This is the east end of the Northup Ave. yard -- Providence skyline is in the background. The MVRR had intended to build under t`e NH near this point and reach the Pawtucket River to receive coal or other goods shipped by water at a lower cost. It would have electrified. Construction started(in 1907 but the New Haven made rate concessions and the project was halted. |
