Amtrak 10-roomette/2-compartment/3-double-bedroom sleeper 2501 BLUE GROVE was on the westbound SUNSET leaving New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. The car had built by Pullman-Standard in December 1947 for the Santa Fe. Amtrak bought nine of these cars in 1971, but five of them were retired in 1973 without being renumbered. The remaining cars were regularly used on the SUNSET, because the four cars could cover the train's tri-weekly schedule. |
