We had two more northbounds behind 51G and 172, but it was already almost 9 by then, and we opted to leave them behind. There was no movement from the CVNR when we arrived into Connersville, which was a good sign. So, we moved down to the CSX yard where the inbound IBCX power sat. L425 had yet to be disassembled from the night before, so the IBCX power was still connected to CSX engines and cars. Leading the L425 was CSX 7767, a C40-8W still in YN2. A number of YN2 Dash 8s and 9s had been reactivated from storage due to a power shortage CSX has been experiencing this summer. Along with the 7767, another Dash 8/9 pair sat over to the left of the train on the rip track. Kind of was like stepping back into the early 2010s in Connersville again! |
