Cape Brenton & Central Nova Scotia (CBNS)
We made the long trip to Sydney to buy RS18 #3842, subject to results of the inspection. Sitting there was a long line of dead C630ms and RS18s. According to the line GM, all were parked running, but had all copper & aluminum stolen out of them within about 2 weeks. The replacement EMDs were GP50s, and had a really high rate of on the road failure-junk according to the CBNS crews. Most of the MLWs were scrapped. The 3842 we were there for had been parked running, but left full of water during the winter-frozen block. We didn't buy her, and she was also cut up.
