Chuck Zeiler General The following is from the book, "Alco, A Centennial Remembrance", by Richard T. Steinbrenner: The Lehigh & Hudson River roster eventually grew to nine C420's, ordered in small numbers over the years. The delivery of L&HR C420 No. 23-24 was interrupted by a terrible head-on collision of ALCO-powered trains of the Jersey Central and Lehigh Valley on recently combined trackage at Laurel Run, PA in the early morning of December 26, 1965. The L&HR units were returned to Schenectady, where they were rebuilt. 8/12/2018 10:05:20 AM
