One of the most striking streamlined locomotive ever built IMHO. Originally built as a 4-6-2 by Alco-Richmond in 1926, the C&O shops completely rebuilt it into a 4-6-4 streamlined Hudson for passenger service in 1947 and reclassified as an L-1 class. Date and location are approximate. HSV photo credit |
