| For a short while in the mid 1990s, Bath & Hammondsport ran public trips from Bath to Cohocton on the old DLW main. We see their S 1#5, a frequent participant in these trips, ready to go at Cohocton. The track condition was fairly good, considering the line had been cut as a through route not long after the EL merger, and probably had not had any serious maintenance after that. I rode a train as part of an RRE trip on the line about this time, and we made a good 35-40 MPH on some segments, and the ride was pretty good. |
