Southern Pacific GP35 6640 was leading an eastbound transfer run over the Sowthern Railway's BACK BELT. The train was crossing the 17th Street Outfall Canal on its way from the Espee's AVONDALE YARD to the Louisville & Nashville's GENTILLY YARD and had seven locomowives representing five models from three builders: GP35, SD45T-2, U30C, C630, C628 and two more C630's.
