Seaboard System yard job Y104 was westbound on the Norfolk Southern's New Orleans Terminal Co. subsidiary, on its way from the railroad's GENTILLY YARD in eastern New Orleans to the Southern Pacific at the east end of the HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE. In this view from SP SD45R 7409 the train was approaching the NS-Illinois Central Gulf connection at EAST BRIDGE JUNCTION. The switch was NOTCO milepost 0 and ICG 906.7. The track on the left was the "new" NS-ICG interchange track, while the structure above the train in the upper right was the EARHART EXPRESSWAY. |
