| Volkmer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, in June of 1962. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9521 and another "EF" Class unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9521 was constructed in May of 1948 and retired in February of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. |
