UP 4001 gets some brief R&R in Green River. A worker inspects the pistons while another loads coal into the centipede tender. World War 2 has begun, and regular cleaning of the engines has mostly stopped, as they are constantly on the move, shuttling troops and supplies across the Wasatch range.
