Lorenz. Here is a photo via Bob Lorenz that was taken at the State Route 53 Highway Bridge near Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, in 1951. Shown here is a pair of unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad BP-60 "Centipede" diesel engines built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 6,000 horsepower total. They've just passed through one of the Tunnels in Gallitzin and are about to roar under the Bridge with a passenger train bound for Pittsburgh and points West. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |
