Tom Beckett	General	That's an interesting way to keep the untensils and cookware from becoming flying objects. As an RV driver, who rarely gets going faster than 80 MPH, I can tell you that if your stuff isn't battened down, it WILL work its way off shelves and go all over. I'm surprised, knowing this, since it was not a surprise to any of the builders, that there were not built in accommodations for the rock and roll of high speed train movement. So it goes. My daughter, who spent 8 years on active duty in the Navy, always asks me, when we're ready to head out after a visit in the RV, are we "sea worthy," meaning is everything in the RV secured so it won't go airborne during the trip. NYC Business Car #3, "Portland"
Interesting use of bungy cords to hold items in place on the open shelves when the car is flying down the track. The car has been revamped to meet Amtrak's 110 mph speed requirements. Bet the contents on these shelves move quite a bit at that speed!
