BO 2-8-2 #4622 - Baltimore & Ohio         
Long before an F7A carried the B&O number 4622, this beefy 2-8-2 Mikado had the distinct honor. B&O #4622 was built by Baldwin in March of 1923 and proved to be a very veratile locomotive. It was able to serve for nearly 32 years before being retired in November of 1956 at the Mt Clare yard in Baltimore, MD. Specs - Q-4b class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine wt of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. Glenn H. Davis photo
