Description:
This 1918 Alco-Schenectady built 2-8-2 Mikado came to a tragic end on January 4, 1940 when it blew up and was scrapped a month later. This was the only class N-2 member not to reach retirement in 1949-50. Specs - class N-2, 63" drvers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,000 lb, tractive effort of 54,779 lb. No photographer listed and only the year was listed for the date..
