Title:  Rio Grande Steam Generator 253
Description:  Parked at Denver is D&RGW Steam Generator 253. 253 started life as 1947 ALCo built PB-1 6002. In October 1965, 6002 was converted to Steam Generator 253. 253 would be sold to ANSCO in 1987 and operated as part of the Rio Grande Ski Train. It was placed in storage in 2001. In 2006, it was sold to Algoma Central and numbered 78. As of 2023, it is believed to still be in existence.

Description:  The Rio Grande used this PB1 as a steam generator car for train hotel power. Sadly, by the time I saw it, the Alco tri mount trucks had been replaced by a set of Blombergs, rendering this ungainly appearance.
