Description:  Wallin. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Richard R. Wallin that was taken in Homestead, Pennsylvania, in April of 1960. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9488 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are FF-20's built by Fairbanks-Morse and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #9488 was constructed in November of 1948 and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of service. When there's icicles on the grilles, it's really cold!

Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9488 and a trio of unidentified GM-EMD "Geeps." #9488 was built by Fairbanks-Morse in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service.
