The DMIR were so impressed with the first eight 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotives from Baldwin in 1941, they ordered another set in 1943. This one was built in January of 1943 (serial #64710) and lasted nearly 19 years in heavy iron ore drag service before being scrapped in 1962. Specs - M4 class, 63" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 699,700 lb, impressive tractive effort of 140,000 lb.
